The Research Center for Cultural Exclusion and Frontier Zones (RCCEFZ SI RAS) is established withinin the Sociological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences. Research work was initiated thanks to the financial support of the Russian Science Foundation (project № 14-18-00192) The Center main areas of concern are cultural exclusion (frontier) zones, mechanisms of their formation, processes of actualization, de-actualization, and re-actualization, and the confrontation between the core of culture and its margins. The research terminology and methodology have been worked out and specified thanks to the support of the Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation (project № 16-03-00442).
